BAYSHORE PACIFIC OF TAIPEI ACQUIRES CONTROL of DAN RYAN’S & AMARONI’S RESTAURANT GROUP
(Hong Kong 19th September 2016)-- Hong Kong - Bayshore Pacific Hospitality Limited (“Bayshore”) of Taipei, an operator of casual dining restaurants in Taipei and Shanghai, has announced its acquisition of a controlling interest in Hong Kong-based Windy City International Limited (“Windy City”). Windy City is the owner and operator of the hugely popular Hong Kong restaurant brands, Dan Ryan’s Chicago Grill and Amaroni’s N.Y. Italian Restaurant & Cafe.
Dan Ryan’s has locations in Ocean Terminal/Harbour City Mall (TST) and Festival Walk Mall (Kowloon Tong) in Hong Kong, and in Singapore and Taipei. Amaroni’s has one location in Festival Walk, and a soon-to-open location in Taikoo Hui Mall, in the Tianhe District of downtown Guangzhou.
John Hardyment, CEO of Bayshore, said, “We are tremendously excited to add the Dan Ryan’s and Amaroni’s brands to our stable of casual dining brand names. Dan Ryan’s has a 27-year history in Hong Kong and East Asia, and we are confident that it will continue to delight its customers for decades to come. Amaroni’s also has a long and great history, and we feel has tremendous growth potential in Mainland China, where Italian cuisine is very popular and accepted. The opening next month of the first Amaroni’s in Guangzhou is just the first step in our growth plans in China.”
Concurrent with the announcement of its acquisition of the Dan Ryan’s brand, Bayshore also announced that an agreement had been signed to open a new Dan’s in Swire’s Taikoo Shing Mall in Island East. This is the first of Dan Ryan’s new locations on Hong Kong island since the original restaurant in Swire’s Pacific Place Mall closed in early 2016 after expiration of its lease.
“Dan Ryan’s in Taikoo Shing will launch a new generation of Dan’s Ryan’s design, and yet keeps the DNA of the original that our customers have loved since 1989,” said Merritt Croker, COO of Bayshore and also one of the original founders of the Dan Ryan’s brand.
“Our culinary team will also launch a next generation menu of new American food as well as many of Dan’s classic favorites. Yes, Dan Ryan’s will have the same huge portions, business and family friendly atmosphere, and smooth jazz music, as well as the same personalized service that has been a hallmark of the Dan Ryan’s culture.”
Bayshore also announced that the Amaroni’s restaurant in Festival Walk Mall will close for a major renovation beginning in September. Croker said, “Amaroni’s has been a wonderful family and group dining experience for so many years. The new Amaroni’s Italian-American design and menu will build on this huge success. We believe that our faithful customers will be delighted with the result after we reopen in October, and also attract many new customers as well!”
